Med Angels Investors' Bootcamp is an Investors only track that will take place during Techne Summit 2021. The track is curated by investors for investors in different stages. Participants include high net-worth individuals who want to understand the nuts and bolts of investing in startups. And also intermediate or advanced investors who aim to build strong relations with investors for co-investment opportunities.
This year we will have more networking activities, and we are adding investors' activities and pitching to the talks, panels and workshops.
Some of the highlights include taking our investors on an exclusive yacht experience on the Mediterranean Sea.

The company is considered the first and only company in Egypt and the Middle East to produce dome theatre movies. Dalia Ibrahim has also succeeded in establishing Nahdet Misr Periodicals in 2004, which publishes the Arabic versions of the world’s most acclaimed entertainment magazines such as; Disney and National Geographic across Egypt and the Middle East. In 2009, she contributed in establishing Nahdet Misr Trading and Distribution; which supplies and distributes all kinds of stationery, and educational supplies.

    Driven by a sense of commitment to the society, Dalia volunteers to serve as a mentor or a judge to start-up projects of young entrepreneurs, which triggered her to later initiate the establishment of EdVentures in 2017.     Hadeer has been breaking many molds all through her career; her successful journey started off soon after graduating from the American University in Cairo in 2011 and became the Founder & President of AIESEC Lebanon. 

    Coming back to Egypt she revolutionized the public transportation experience by founding “Taxi El Sa7el” in 2014. Her startup, which offered the first transportation-on-demand model in Egypt, was later acquired by Careem in 2014. Hadeer joined them the same year as the company’s General Manager in Egypt at the age of 24. She quickly rose to the Regional Director of Category Management in UAE, a department focusing on launching new products such as bikes, pooling, deliveries, taxis and buses. In 2018 she became the Regional Director of Careem Bus leading teams in Egypt, UAE and Pakistan.

    In Talabat, Hadeer will continue to drive the brand in the Egyptian market, placing key emphasis on customer experience, supporting restaurant partners, q-commerce, as well as working hand-in-hand with the government on many initiatives, including rider safety and the continued digitization of the food and beverage sector.

    In 2016 she was chosen as one of the 50 most influential women in Egypt. In her free time Hadeer loves to travel and learn from different cultures. She is also very interested in the start-up scene across the globe and has been a strong believer in new ideas and their power in changing people’s lives.

(Egypt’s largest Hospital Group) and led its subsequent successful listing on the Egyptian Stock Exchange in 2016.

    Prior to joining Abraaj, Walid was a director with Riyada Ventures (A boutique regional investment bank), and previously Managing Director of Technology Development Fund (TDF, Egypt’s 1st VC fund). He started his career with AT&T in Kuwait and moved on to manage and establish several technology companies in France and the US.

    Walid served, and continues to serve, as a director on the boards of local and regional companies. He’s an Independent Director and head of the Audit Committee of Alexandria New Medical Center (Egypt’s largest independent hospital – AMES.EGX). He previously served on the boards of Egypt’s largest hospital group (CHG; CLHO.EGX) as well as Egypt’s largest education group CIRA (CIRA.EGX) ahead of its listing. 

    Walid is actively engaged with education and entrepreneurship initiatives in Egypt. He served on the Board of Trustees of Education for Employment (EFE) Egypt, Bidaya Fund’s (Government SME Fund) advisory board, AUC’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation counsel and is an active Endeavor mentor. He was responsible for developing the strategic proposition of the $1billion revenue business. His strategy worked in line with customer, market and competitive trends. Upon strategic execution, he prepared the division for sale to private equity which took place in 2016 for $3.55B.  

    A champion of diversity and inclusion, he was a founding advisor for Reach Mentoring. Reach is a successful program focusing on high-potential woman executives in the Middle East. Furthermore, he was the executive sponsor of diversity in the workplace programs at Thomson Reuters.

    In New York, Rabih was a founding member of the Media & Telecom Group with Banc of America Securities, focusing on M&A, where he led broad financial advisory and restructuring services for a number of major corporations. He also worked for Prudential Securities as an Equity Research Analyst covering the Oilfield Services & Equipment sector.

    In San Francisco, Rabih was a Senior Engineering Manager with URS Corporation, the world’s largest engineering design firm, where he developed new service offerings for the Technology, Biotech and Energy sectors.

    Rabih received his MBA from Columbia University and his MS in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received a Bachelor of Engineering with Distinction from the American University of Beirut.
